The 33rd Arbor Day celebration gives people the chance to visit The Arboretum and the Kentucky Children’s Garden, free of charge!

We will have a variety of tree-related programs and crafts in the Kentucky Children’s Garden, as well as UK student groups and organizations from across Kentucky. Our Arbor Day celebration at The Arboretum is supported by our presenting sponsor: LG/E&KU Foundation.

8:30 AM – Fall Plant Exchange | Bring plants and garden-related items (books, seeds, tools, decor, etc.) to the grass overflow parking lot at 8:30 AM. The exchange starts at 9 AM and usually lasts for 30 minutes. 

10 AM – Opening Program | Proclamation of Arbor Day, Tree City USA, Tree Campus USA, and Healthcare Tree Campus USA recognition 

10:30 AM – 5 PM Kentucky Children’s Garden | FREE admission today, thanks to PRESENTING SPONSOR Kentucky Utilities! | Enjoy crafts, games, giant bubble wands, and plant something to take home. 

Throughout the day: Visit with exhibitors from UK and the community, including the UK Entomology Club, UK Recycling, the UK Horticulture Club, Glean Kentucky, and more!
